Book I Réconcilier : vers une identité environnementale
The ecological crisis is not only environmental.
It is also a crisis in our relationship with nature.
We are facing a major ecological crisis. Yet this crisis is not only environmental—it is also cultural.
In this book, Hubert Mansion, founder of UNature (formerly L’Université dans la Nature), presents a central idea that lies at the origin of his organization: the destruction of nature is inseparable from the way we perceive our place within it.
This reflection draws on research in environmental psychology, neuroscience, and environmental sociology, as well as studies on the physiological, psychological, and cognitive impacts of contact with nature on human health. It is also grounded in a deep analysis of environmental thought and in years of field projects developed through UNature. Through engagement with diverse audiences and contexts, this work has helped identify the barriers, resistances, and levers that shape our relationship with nature.
Building on a scientific, experiential, and sensory approach, Hubert Mansion outlines the foundations of an environmental identity—a way of being in the world in which humans once again recognize themselves as part of nature.
This book is the first volume in the L’Université dans la Nature collection, now UNature, and lays its conceptual foundations.
